Weekend Recap: Quality Time

This weekend was great and relaxing! In fact, it was so great and relaxing that I didn't take any pictures. Oops!

I started my weekend off by having some girl time on Thursday night with my friends Emily and Kristin. After dinner we met at By The Glass, a wine bar nearby. We always have such a fun time together and I'm so glad we made time to hang out last week. It was our first time at By The Glass and we're already talking about when we can go back.

On Friday Hubby had to work but I didn't so I had the house to myself. I had grand aspirations of being productive but alas, those plans fell through. I did, however, catch up on some Netflix and was able to read several chapters of my current book. I was also able to spend some quality time with Wallace and Penny which is very important in my opinion! I did do one productive thing which was do my Zumba workout on the wii. After Hubby got home, I showered and got all dolled up for our date. We decided to try out a restaurant we'd never been to before so we picked Bruno's Little Italy. It was delicious! We both had fantastic salads, bowls of pasta, and we decided to splurge and we each had a cannoli. The restaurant didn't rush us and we had a prime seat right near the window where you can watch the man tossing pizza dough in the kitchen. After a couple of very busy weeks it was so lovely to talk and linger over a delicious meal together. After dinner we went by Target to pick up a couple of things and then we rented a movie from Redbox because I had a code for a free dvd rental. Love those! When we got home we changed into our pjs and snuggled up on the couch to watch our movie.

Once we got up on Saturday morning, I asked Hubby "what do you want to do today?" and he replied "be a bum". Since he has to work every other weekend while doing this clinical rotation I thought it was well deserved so that's what we did. I made breakfast quesadillas for breakfast for us and we relaxed all morning. Saturday afternoon/evening Hubby did some yard work, we went grocery shopping, and I made us dinner. Then we resumed our relaxing haha!

Sunday morning we went to church, went out to lunch, then came home and did some laundry and tidied up around the house. We topped off the weekend by having some tasty whole wheat pancakes and turkey bacon for dinner. Yum!

So while we didn't go out and do a lot, we were able to spend some quality time relaxing and enjoying each other's company. It was very needed for both of us and we absolutely loved it.
