I hate you

I hate you Alzheimer's.

I hate you because you take so long to run your course.

I hate you because my Grandma and Grandpa physically sit in front of me but they're no longer there.

I hate you because these are the golden years my Grandparents should be enjoying together but you've taken that away.

I hate you because anytime one of them requires surgery, we know it could cause a further progression into you.

I hate you because my Grandmother no longer remembers who I am.

I hate you because my Grandfather no longer recognizes my voice.

I hate you because you slowly take away a person's self and then when you've taken away that, you take away their motor abilities as well.

I hate you because they can no longer remember all the wonderful memories we made together.

I hate you because sometimes all I want to do is talk to my real Grandma or Grandpa.

I hate you because they are no longer my real Grandma and Grandpa, they are someone else.

I hate you because of the pain you cause, the hurt you give, the memories you take away and the hearts you break.

I hate you Alzheimer's.

:( I'm right there with you, friend. I wrote a similar post a while ago. It's a terrible disease and I'm so sorry we have to go through this.

Taylor, I am so sorry. Seeing your grandparents struggle with this disease must be so, so hard. Sending you hugs today.
